Official Jail and Sheriff Contacts

The local jail and sheriff records routes are separate. Call the jail for custody questions before travel. Use the Sheriff's Office records process or NextRequest for sheriff records.

Where To Look

Choose the route by record type, because Walla Walla jail records, state prison custody, court records, and federal detention do not come from the same system.

• For someone in the county jail, start with jail inmate records and then call the corrections office if the result affects travel, bond, or visitation.
• For booking photos, read jail roster mugshots because Washington law limits booking-photo release.
• For charges filed after booking, use court records after a jail arrest and contact the court of record.
• For a facility-specific question, use the facility pages listed in the footer.
• For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Washington Department of Corrections incarcerated search.
• For a federal or immigration detainee, use the BOP inmate locator or ICE detainee locator.

For Superior Court records, contact the Walla Walla County Clerk at 315 West Main, PO Box 836, Walla Walla, WA 99362, phone 509-524-2780, email Clerk1@wwcowa.gov. The Clerk's office hours in the research are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

For District Court records, the county page says requests must be in writing and that a $20 records request fee applies. District Court records may be requested through the online form or printed form, with printed forms returned by mail, fax, or email.
